1,557 farmers in Aguinaldo, Ifugao sign up with agriculture registry in 2022

Aguinaldo, Ifugao – For the year 2022, a total of 1,557 members of the agriculture sector in Aguinaldo, Ifugao signed up for the government's registry system, reports the Municipal Agriculture Office on Thursday, Dec. 29.

The figure is a bit higher than the 1,472 registered farmers in 2021.

Personnel of the local agricultural office headed by Municipal Agriculturist Robert P. Changwayan have been conducting a registration drive in remote villages to assist target farmers in the sign-up activities for the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA) so they can avail of the benefits of the programs for farmers of the Department of Agriculture.

RSBSA is a registry of farmers, fisherfolk, and farm laborers that serves as a targeting mechanism for the identification of beneficiaries for different agriculture-related programs and services of the government.

Those registered in the system are prioritized in the distribution of subsidies and other assistance such as the P5,000 financial grant thru the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund - Rice Farmers Financial Assistance (RCEF-RFFA) program, among others.

From January to December 29 this year, some 691 rice farmers, 384 corn farmers, and 74 fisherfolks were able to register. In addition, 166 farmers who are engaged in the High-Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) including 242 in livestock were likewise able to sign-up, qualifying them for their privileges.

The Municipal Agriculture Office extended their gratitude to their head and to Mishel G. Napachao who is in charge of the registration.

The office assured its continued support to the sector ‘for sustainable agriculture programs in the whole municipality.’
