1 Cambodian, 1 Chinese arrested in Tuba, Benguet for violating immigration laws

Tuba, Benguet – Two foreign nationals were nabbed by the Bureau of Immigration in a Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) –related raid morning of July 27 in Barangay Poblacion, Tuba.

The Bureau of Immigration, in a press release, said its Intelligence Division (BIID), the Regional Intelligence Unit- Cordillera Administrative Region, and the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) headed to the area to arrest a Chinese woman linked to the POGO HUB raided in Baman, Tarlac.

However, instead of a Chinese woman, two foreign nationals were found in the house.

They were identified as Wang Keping, 35, a Chinese female, and Khuon Moeurn, 37, a Cambodian male.

Mouern according to the bureau is an undocumented and overstaying alien in the country.

He was not able to present his documentation following a verification made by the bureau. He only showed a photo of his Cambodian passport which expired in August 2020.

However, Senator Risa Hontiveros, during the senate hearing on Monday claimed that the passport of Moeurn is fake and he is really a Chinese national.

As for Wang, Commissioner Fortunato Manahan, Jr said that while she was able to present a working visa, she might still face charges for violating immigration laws for harboring an illegal alien.

“Both foreigners were arrested and will be brought to Manila for booking procedures. Physical custody of the duo will remain with the PAOCC while undergoing deportation proceedings,” the Bureau of Immigration stated.
