Cop and farmer shot dead in Isabela resto bar


Isabela, Philippines – A cop and a farmer were killed while one other was injured during a shooting in a resto bar in Dsitrict 2 village of Tumauini, Isabela over the weekend.


Police personnel, namely Police Corporal Neil Baquiran, 33, who is assigned with Santiago City Provincial Office and Patrolman Jackson Acosta, 25, from the 3rd Manuever Platoon of 1st Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Mobile Force Company allegedly exchanged fire over an unknown reason, the Tumauini Police Station initially reported.

The shooting incident led to the death of Acosta and Donnie Cullado, a farmer, from Delfin Albano, Isabela who was at the resto bar that time. A certain Anacleto Arugay, also a farmer, sustained injury.


Recovered at the scene were 13 empty shells of cal. 9mm and other cal. 9mm ammunitions.


Ballistic examination and paraffin test were conducted to determine the cause of the incident. The results are yet to be disclosed.


Baquiran, meanwhile, was arrested for violation of Omnibus Election Code.
