Buguias, Benguet -  A 33-year-old driver died while his two passengers were injured after their truck fell into a 20-meter-deep ravine in Upper Cotcot, Barangay Bangao, Buguias, Benguet on the afternoon of Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

The casualty, who died on the spot, was identified as Denver Adcapen, a resident of Guinzadan, Bauko, Mt. Province, while the identities of the injured individuals were not disclosed by the police.

In his interview with a local media outlet, PMSgt. Crisencio Kebasen of Buguias Municipal Police Station said the incident transpired at 4:30 p.m. that day, but the driver's body was recovered only at 8:30 p.m. because it was stuck in the truck.

The two passengers, meanwhile, were rushed to the Lutheran Hospital in Abatan by the rescue team and are now in stable condition.

The initial report from said police station stated that a ‘mechanical defect’ might have been the cause of why the truck fell into the ravine.
