1 killed, 3 injured in Cauayan, Isabela road accident

Cauayan City, Isabela - A 21-year-old woman died while three others were injured after a motorcycle hit another motorcycle in Cauayan City, Isabela around 2 a.m. on Monday, July 15.

The involved individuals were identified as Serapin Laureta, 18, Lucky Baddong, 26, Mitch Aquino, 21, and Diana Manahan, 15.

Cauayan PNP reported that Laureta was riding a Suzuki Raider that time. Aquino and Manahan were her pillion passengers.

Baddong, meanwhile, was on board a Honda Click.

Accordingly, the two vehicles were both traversing the road in Barangay Minante 2 when the incident transpired. Baddong was said to have been over speeding causing him to hit the back part of the Suzuki Raider.

Due to the force of the impact, the said individuals were thrown off from their vehicles which caused their injuries.

They were immediately rushed by the rescue team to a medical facility. Unfortunately, one of the back riders - Mitch Aquino- was pronounced dead upon arrival by the attending physician, while the others are now in stable conditions.

A reckless driving resulting in homicide and damage to property case will be filed against Baddong if the matter will not be settled amicably.
