1 killed, another injured after motorcycle hit van and crashed against truck in Baguio

Baguio City, Philippines -  A  rider was killed while his pillion passenger was injured in a road accident that transpired in the afternoon of Monday, October 29, along Kennon Road, Camp 7, Baguio City.

 

The casualty was identified as Kervin Nicholas, 20,  a resident of Tay-ac Rosario, La Union, while the injured was Homer Teg-ad, 20, a resident of Loakan Access Road, Baguio City.

 

Based on the police report obtained by the DZWT 540 AM - Radyo Totoo, Nicholas and Teg-ad were on board a motorcycle when they met the tragic accident.

 

While they were traversing the said road, Nicholas, the rider, lost control of the motorcycle. This caused the two to end up on the other lane and hit the oncoming container van driven by Reynan Casilang, a resident of Pasay City.

 

The crash did not stop there as the motorcycle continued to run until it collided with another large vehicle, a container truck.

 

As a result, Nicholas and Teg-ad sustained severe injuries. They were rushed to a hospital nearby by the rescue team, but Nicholas succumbed to his injuries while Teg-ad survived and is currently recuperating at the hospital.

 

The same report disclosed that none of the van and truck occupants were injured.

 

As of now, further investigations are being conducted by the authorities to determine the real cause of the accident.
