12 farmer groups in Apayao receive P15M livelihood aid



Luna, Apayao - To aid in their recovery from damages to their livelihood caused by super typhoon "Egay," twelve farmer groups in Pudtol and Flora, Apayao, recently received cash assistance totaling P15 million.


This initiative was made possible through the Sustainable Livelihood Program Assistance of Congresswoman Eleanor Bulut-Begtang, as stated by the Apayao Provincial Public Information Office.


The funds were provided by the Department of Social Welfare and Development, through Secretary Rex Gatchalian, in response to the solon’s appeal to assist residents whose livelihoods were affected by the typhoon.


During the distribution ceremony on December 20, 2023, the Congresswoman personally handed checks to the beneficiaries.


The beneficiaries include Namnama ti Mannalon, Dur-as ti Mannalon, Istasyong Isnag, Tawit IP Farmers Rice Mill, and Pagsayaatan ti Kaisnagan in Pudtol.


Recipients from Flora included the Mal North Farmers, Anninipan Farmers in Barangays Anninipan and Malubibit Sur, Rang ay ti Mannalon in Barangay Allig and Anninipan, BM Farmers, Panagkaykaysa Farmers, and United Upland Farmers.


In addition to the livelihood grants, some eligible beneficiaries also received assistance such as educational, medical, burial, cash-for-work, and relief commodities, among others.


Beneficiaries in other municipalities will also receive similar assistance in the coming days.
