124th CSC Anniversary Celebration kicks off in Kalinga; job fairs, other activities launched

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Kalinga PLGU officials, CSC officials, representatives from various national line agencies, and uniform personnel convened at the Kalinga Sports Center on Monday, September 2, for the kickoff ceremony of the 124th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary with the theme: “Transforming public service in the next decade: Honing agile and future-ready servant heroes.”.

 

Said event started with a motorcade and was followed by a program at the Kalinga Sports Center where Governor James Edduba provided updates on the development of his LUMIN-AWA Kalinga eight-point agenda.

 

In his report, Edubba said Kalinga, in the past three years, accumulated a total of P234,907,978. 51 local revenue collections, or 134.09 efficiency rates from 2021–2023.

 

The father of the province further relayed that the figures reflect the province’s steadfast commitment to fiscal responsibility and likewise, the trust of the taxpayers, both of which are essential for progress.

 

Activities lined up for the CSC Anniv celebration

 

One of the activities lined up for the month-long celebration as discussed by the provincial and CSC-Kalinga officials during their meeting on August 8, include ‘Linggo ng Malasakit sa Kalikasan,' in which a tree planting activity called “Tree Growing For A Cause” will take place.

 

Other events are the friendship games on Volleyball and Basketball, Bloodletting, Lingkod Bayani, Bazaar, Job Fair, Professional Regulation Commission licensing activity, Psychological, Health, and First Aid Forum, recognition of public servants who achieved regional and national level commendation, and hanging of the Civil Service Anniversary Flag in offices in the province will also be conducted.

  

The 124th PCSA is being celebrated in accordance with Presidential Proclamation No. 1050, series of 1997, declaring September as the Civil Service Month.

 

This also commemorates the establishment of the Philippine Civil Service by virtue of Public Law No. 5 (An Act for the Establishment and Maintenance of an Efficient and Honest Civil Service in the Philippine Islands) on 19 September 1900.
