128 Brgy. Appas residents of Tabuk City get FREE anti-flu and anti-pneumonia jabs

Tabuk City, Kalinga -  Over one hundred twenty individuals of Barangay Appas in Tabuk City, Kalinga, received free vaccinations and medical check-ups provided by the City Health Services Office (CHSO) this past Wednesday, January 15, 2025.

 

Said health activities were led by Doctor Diana Dalsen of the Tabuk CHSO Health Center 1 (formerly known as RHU 1), alongside her team.

 

The free vaccinations provided by the team to the beneficiaries include anti-flu and anti-pneumonia, which are aimed at protecting the community from serious illnesses amid the rainy and cold season.

On the other hand, the free medical check-ups were done to ensure the well-being of the residents in said barangay.

 

There were a total of 128 residents who benefited from said health activities, according to Barangay Appas Midwife Joys Taluyan.

 

Of the total beneficiaries, 67 of them were senior citizens, 36 were non-seniors, 3 persons with disabilities (PWDs), 2 barangay officials, 6 barangay health workers (BHWs), and 14 teachers.

 

Taluyan, on behalf of the BLGU headed by Barangay Captain Bernard Glennn Dao-as, expressed gratitude to the CHSO for their dedication to enhancing the well-being of the community.

 

"Babaen kenni Barangay Captain Dao-as, we would like to express our sincere appreciation to the Tabuk City Health Services Office for offering free vaccinations and medical check-ups to our residents here in Appas," she stated.

 

The midwife, in an interview with Guru Press Cordillera, also encouraged her fellow residents to take full advantage of such health programs, which play a vital role in enhancing public health and preventing diseases.

 

"I grab da koma ti kakastoy nga health activities ta para met-laeng ti pag-imbagan da,” she added.

 

The free medical check-ups and free vaccination program conducted in said barangay is part of the ongoing efforts of the CHSO to provide accessible and free health-care services to the residents in the city.
