13 yApayaos graduate from Phil. Army’s 3rd Cycle Class 794

Luna, Apayao – After four (4) months of rigid basic military training in Tarlac, 13 yApayao trainees of the Philippine Army finally graduated from the 3rd Cycle Class 794 on Dec. 10, adding to the total of 897 graduates produced through Apayao’s AFP recruitment program - the brainchild of Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr.

The said program by the Governor is aimed at solving multiple problems with one shot – insurgency, unemployment, and poverty.

Among said graduates, five came from Conner, two from Pudtol, two from Calanasan, two from Kabugao, one from Santa Marcela, and one from Flora.

The graduates began their training on September 28 and were part of class 794-2024 comprising the 679 regular quota and 105 special enlistments, totaling to 784 candidate soldiers.

In an interview with AFP Recruitment Coordinator of Apayao PLGU Joel Asejo on Tuesday, he relayed that nine of the graduates will pursue 45 days INFOC infantry Orientation Course in Gamu, Isabela, while four of them will undergo Scout Ranger Orientation course in Camp Tecson, San Miguel, Bulacan to become full-fledged soldiers.

For seven years since the start of the program in 2017, Apayao has supported and produced its own 897 uniformed servicemen - Philippine Army, Philippine Marines, and Air Force - all deployed to execute their prime duty to protect and serve the country and the province.

In his previous statements, Gov. Bulut said he believes that sponsoring an yApayao family member to join the AFP will solve multiple problems such as insurgency, unemployment, and poverty among communities.

The Recruitment unit said application for the AFP program is still open for those potential and aspiring applicants. They just have to submit their application at the Provincial Capitol, provided they meet the general requirements and qualifications.
