138 4Ps recipients in Magsaysay, Tabuk City validated

Tabuk City, Kalinga – A total of 138 household beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Barangay Magsaysay, Tabuk City were recently validated, disclosed Captain Enrique Sagayo.

The 4Ps is a national poverty reduction strategy of the government that provides conditional cash grants to the poorest of the poor, to improve the health, nutrition, and the education of children aged 0-18.

The validation conducted by the regional Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is part of its updating process, in compliance with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Secretary Erwin Tulfo to ensure that all unqualified and ineligible beneficiaries are removed from the program.

In said village, all of its 4Ps beneficiaries passed the three-day validation done by DSWD-Cordillera on September 21, 22 and 27. This means the 138 household recipients are still considered “poor” and will continue to receive the grant.

According to the regional office of DSWD, 4Ps provides conditional grants to the beneficiaries such as P6000 a year or P500 per month per household for health and nutrition expenses, and P3000 for one school year or 10 months or 300 per month per child for educational expenses. A maximum of three children per household is allowed.

In a statement, Sagayo encouraged the recipients to make use of the assistance as intended.

“Usaren yu kuma iti para iti pagkasapulan yu iti pamilya nangruna iti panagadal dagiti annak yu ket saan yu kuma nga isugal ken ibarbartek laeng dagita ta tulong iti gobyerno kadakayo dagita nga maaw-awat yu,” said the barangay chief.

He further asked the 4Ps grantees to cooperate with the government programs in the village, as their counterpart.
