15 coffee growers in Kalinga train to boost productivity, competitiveness

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Fifteen Heroica Coffee growers from Pasil and Balbalan municipalities of Kalinga Province were trained on Innovative Coffee Farming Practices to improve their productivity and global competitiveness.

The training held on Tuesday, June 28, at Kalinga State University was initiated by the Department of Science and Technology- Cordillera thru the Provincial Science and Technology Center - Kalinga.

The undertaking that was conducted in partnership with the said university is under the department’s Innovation Support System Trainings of the Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP).

The PSTC-Kalinga, in a press release, said the coffee growers were oriented on coffee investment opportunities and their potential for economic development.

They were likewise equipped with coffee farm management techno-demonstration where the technical knowledge of raw bean production was given emphasis.

The training, the center added, intends to upgrade the coffee farmers’ customary ways and provide necessary skills in modernized coffee farm management.
