Tabuk City, Kalinga - iKalinga designers showcased once again the radiance of Kalinga modern clothing textiles at the Laga Fashion Show 2025, which took place on February 13, 2025, at the Capitol Park in Bulanao, Tabuk City.

According to Kalinga Tourism Supervising Operations Officer Lorraine Ngao-i, in an interview with Guru Press Cordillera, there were 16 designers in the province who participated in the event.

These designers were from the Kinwa Etnika Handicrafts, Balik Tribo Arts and Crafts Manufacturing, Rovie’s Kalinga Products, Kurt’s Ethnic Handicrafts, Nessaj’s Handicrafts and Pasalubong Products, Rycy Ethnic Fashion Designing, Caroline’s Ethnic and Fashion, and JG Salon.

Other participating Kalinga modern textiles shops were Cassidy Designs Handmade Arts and Crafts, Glam Garden Collections, CJ Designers Fashion Boutique, Taitana’s Dress Shop & Kalinga Woven Products, Cultura de Kalinga Fashion Boutique, Masalingga Musical Instruments & Handicrafts, and Tribu Bullz Fashion Shop.

Ngao-i also shared there were around 300 models who walked the runway for free which, she said, is their way of showing their support to local designers. These models further expressed their love for the designs as they likewise bought the dresses they wore from the designers.

“Dagitoy attires ti models tayo ket isuda mismo nanggatang idiay shops ti desginers tayo, which is a big help for them. Dagitoy met models, passion da ti ag-model kaya nila ginagawa iyon. Hindi sila binabayaran ng mga designers,” Ngao-i shared.

The Laga Fashion 2025 was among the events of the 30th Kalinga Founding Anniversary and 6th Bodong Festival in Kalinga, which highlighted the importance of Kalinga's weaving tradition and promotion of proprietors and designers.
