166 Santa Marcela residents receive aid thru TUPAD Program

Santa Marcela,Apayao - 166 residents from Barangays San Carlos, Barocboc, Sipa, Imelda, San Antonio, Nueva, and Marcela received cash assistance through the TUPAD program on November 12, 2024.

The payout to the said TUPAD beneficiaries was done at the EKB Clubhouse, Municipal Ground in Barangay San Carlos.

This program, led by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the local government, provides short-term jobs and financial aid to those in need.

Additionally, the Dur-as ti Malekkeg Farmers Association received a livelihood check worth PHP 1,488,500. This support aims to help farmers improve their livelihoods and strengthen the local agricultural community.

The event was attended by DOLE Provincial Head Jane Adalan, Municipal Mayor Evelyn B. Martinez, and PESO Manager Jeaza Gem M. Cabigas.

Adalan spoke about the importance of these programs, while Mayor Martinez expressed her support to endeavors for local jobs and agriculture.

Mr. Romel Dela Cruz, from the Dur-as Ti Malekkeg Farmers Association, thanked DOLE and the LGU for their support, saying the funds would greatly help their farming efforts and benefit the community.
