Conner, Apayao - In recognition of their contributions to the delivery of health services in the province, barangay health workers (BHWs) in Apayao received over P800,000.00 in cash incentives on January 12, 2024.
The initiative also aims to assist the beneficiaries with their expenses in delivering fundamental health education and providing selected healthcare services in their respective areas.
A total of 169 BHWs and Barangay Nutrition Scholars in the municipality of Conner were the recipients of the assistance.
Each received P5,000, as well as essential kits, such as boots, umbrellas, and uniforms during the distribution ceremony on the said day.
The fund used in the provision of financial aid is from the Provincial Health Office of Apayao.
For his part, Conner Mayor Jorico Bayaua will also provide additional cash incentives to the barangay health workers and volunteers in the municipality.
Bayaua, in his message, expressed gratitude to Governor Elias Bulut Jr. and the provincial LGU for their steadfast support of this kind of initiative in the province.
