Santa Ana, Cagayan – A 17-year-old student was arrested in Santa Ana, Cagayan on Friday, June 21 after he tried blackmailing a 13-year-old girl over some explicit videos he saved during their video calls.
The suspect, hidden in the name MJ, was apprehended through the entrapment operation conducted by the Santa Ana police.
The operation took place following the report of the victim, whose identity was not disclosed.
Police report said the victim just met the suspect on June 19. Since then, the two constantly called each other via video call wherein both of them were said to have shown their private parts.
When the victim decided to not do the same routine anymore, the suspect threatened her that he would spread on social media the explicit videos he saved.
The victim decided to inform the authorities about the matter, leading to the arrest of the suspect who is now under the custody Santa Ana Municipal Social Worker and Development Office.
He will be facing charges for violating Republic Act 9995 or Anti Photo and Video Voyeurism Act and grave threat.
