17-yr.-old student dies following road crash in Paracelis

Paracelis, Mt. Province – While heading home on Friday afternoon, Nov. 10, a 17-year-old student on board a motorcycle was involved in a road crash that claimed his life.


The victim, Chester Sallaya, was traversing the road at Sitio Pandan, Baccari and was heading to Sitio Aba, Bantay, Paracelis when the incident transpired.


Police revealed that when he reached the slightly curved portion of said road, it was then that his motorcycle collided head-on with an SUV which was then headed to Tabuk City.

With the impact of the collision, he suffered from injuries in various parts of his body. The rescue team from Paracelis MPS and LDRRMC ferried him to Paracelis District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.


Meantime, the driver of the SUV, whose identity is withheld, might face charges of Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Homicide and Damage to Property.


With the incident, Mt. Province police now call on road users to follow road safety alerts which have been constantly reminded by them.


“While we keep our part on untiringly reminding you on road safety alerts, please do your part as well. Best to drive defensively, because the tears of our loved ones can never bring back a life that is already gone,” police said.
