181 young fighters across Northern Luzon compete in Tabuk City for spot in 2025 National Kickboxing Championship

Tabuk City, Kalinga—Nearly two hundred young phenoms from Northern Luzon recently convened in Tabuk City to compete for a spot in the 2025 National Kickboxing Championships in September.

 

The 181 athletes representing their respective places in regions I, II, and Cordillera participated in the Northern Luzon Regional Kickboxing held at the Kalinga Astrodome in Bulanao on April 21 – 24.

 

This is the first time the event has been held in Kalinga, the province known for producing strong fighters such as international medallists and titleholders Jean Claude Saclag and Hergie Bacyadan.

 

Organized by the Samahang Kickboxing ng Pilipinas, the national governing body for kickboxing in the Philippines, the Northern Luzon Regional Kickboxing served as the qualifying platform for the National Kickboxing Championships scheduled in September this year.

 

The athletes who were categorized in five divisions - seniors, juniors, younger cadets, older cadets, and children – competed in ‘kick light’ and ‘point fighting’.

 

Collecting 10 gold medals, 7 silver, and 6 bronze, the team Tribu Banwar of Tabuk City emerged as the champion.

Virac Warriors - Itogon, Benguet, Sablan Kafagway Eagles, Team Flashlight Fierce Tigers, WCCS Ilocos Norte, Baguio City National High School, MAX Fusion Only the Strong - Candon City,  Pinget NHS Kafagway Panthers, MAX Fusion Wild Stallion - Vigan City, Wonder Kick Martial Arts Team - Tabuk City, Lucban Fearless Tigers - Baguio City, Alpha Eagles - Irisan NHS Baguio City, Happy Hollow NHS Baguio City, Lions Nation MMA, Pagudpud Combat Club, Team Bokod, Benguet, Excalibur Fight Team – Benguet, Super Foot Gym – Kalinga, Bauko Warriors - Mt. Province, Malayan Combat Sports - Lidlidda, Ilocos Sur, Kalinga Fist Boxing Gym, and the Team D'Phenomenons - Bontoc, Mt. Province.
