19-yr-old Baguio racer wins "Rookie Champion" title in Formula 4 Australian Championships

Baguio City, Philippines - The city of Pines has no reason not to celebrate as one of its promising young racers, Inigo Navarrete Anton, shines again at an international racing contest.

Inigo brought home the “Rookie Champion” title in the recently concluded Formula 4 Australian Championships in Malaysia.

Racing is not a new track for Inigo Anton since his father, Carlos Anton, was also a successful racer. His dad became his inspiration, giving him a much-needed foundation to show off his identity in racing.

Previous Achievements

Before winning in Malaysia, 19-year-old Inigo have already proven himself in several racing competitions. He always remains agile and enduring, as he once showed when he won a bronze medal in the Taipei International Gymkhana Prize Race in April this year.

The experiences he has gained from his previous contests have not only levelled up his capabilities but also prepared him for the global racing game.

The F4 Australian Championships

Held on September 7, 2024, at the Petronas Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia, the F4 Australian Championship is regarded as one of the starting points for talented young racers in the world who are eager to advance toward more competitive levels, and eventually Inigo won the Rookie Champion title.

Despite his achievements, Inigo always shows humility and never forgets the people behind his success.

The young racer expressed gratitude to all his supporters in his social media post after his victory, saying, “Thank you everyone for supporting me throughout my whole racing career. It's because of all of you that I'm able to live out my dreams and continue what I love doing. I'm so blessed.”

Community Recognition

Inigo’s victory is also one thing Baguio has to be proud of; thus, last Thursday, September 19 the city officials penned a resolution anew commending his contribution to the city's reputation as a haven for world-class racers.

The council said Inigo’s success serves as an inspiration for aspiring racers and individuals in all fields striving for excellence.'
