19-yr.-old student beaten up by 3 drunk men while walking home in Baguio

Baguio City, Philippines – While on his way home, a 19-year-old student was beaten up by three intoxicated individuals in Baguio City.

The victim, hidden in the name "Nash," relayed to local media that the incident occurred on Wednesday evening, November 29, 2023.

According to him, while walking in front of the Baguio Palace hotel at about 11:00 p.m., someone suddenly punched him in the back, causing him to feel dizzy.

Three other men took advantage of the situation and beat him repeatedly.

Due to the incident, Nash sustained multiple injuries and will not be able to enter his school until he recovers.

In an interview with PTV Cordillera, Nash disclosed that he decided to file charges against the suspects to prevent such incident from happening again and to protect the city’s image.

"Magfa, file talaga kami ng kaso. . . . Ayaw ko na maulit 'yon. . . . Kasi kung sa iba rin yon mangyari, masisira din ang image ng Baguio," he conveyed.

As to the three suspects, whose identities are kept, they confessed to police that they were under the influence of alcoholic drinks when they committed the crime.

With the incident, authorities said they will further intensify patrolling their areas of responsibility, particularly in drinking establishments throughout the city.
