Tabuk City, Kalinga - Availing government agricultural assistance is now easier for over 2,000 farmers in Kalinga after receiving their Intervention Monitoring Cards (IMCs) from the Department of Agriculture in 2024.

The IMC, according to the DA, is a specialized identification and cash card being issued to farmers registered under the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA).

The card allows the farmers to seamlessly access government intervention programs such as cash aid, subsidies, and farm inputs.

According to the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAg), a total of 2,010 farmers in the province were issued IMCs last year.

OPAg employee Ayessa Shyll Espiritu emphasized that with these cards, the beneficiaries will no longer need to go through lengthy paperwork or manual processing to receive assistance. They can just withdraw the cash aid deposited in the cards.

“Daytoy diay kasla ATM nga usaren da nga agiwithdrawidiay P5,000 (cash assistance) ken nu apan da isakadadiay fertilizer tapnu han nga kasapulan nga agpilpila,” she said.

As for farmers who do not yet have IMCs, the OPAg continues to encourage them to register with the RSBSA so that they will get the card and experience its benefits.

RSBSA is an electronic database that the Department of Agriculture (DA) uses to identify and track farmers, farm workers, fisherfolk, and agri-youth, serving as a basis for availing government interventions in agriculture.
