2 Cordillera schools top performing in Aug. 2023 Criminologists board exam


Baguio City, Philippines – Two tertiary schools in the Cordillera region have again excelled and occupied the first two top spots in the August 2023 Criminologists Licensure Examination(CLE).


The Professional Regulation Commission on Tuesday morning, Sept. 19, announced that 32.68% of the 17,576 who took the CLE last month passed the exam. This is equivalent to 5,743 examinees.

The commission likewise revealed that King’s College of the Philippines Inc. – Benguet is back to being the top 1 performing school(50 and more examinees category) with an 88.89% passing rate. This is after 56 of its 63 examinees successfully made it to the list of passers.


The University of the Cordilleras(UC) managed to maintain its place in the top 2 with an 83.72% passing percentage. UC, as recalled, secured the second spot during the April 2023 CLE.


The Commission on Higher Education commended these schools for their exemplary performance in the August 2023 CLE, noting they have been excelling in said board exam in the past 6 years.


"We extend our heartfelt congratulations to King's College of the Philippines and the University of the Cordilleras for their outstanding achievements in the August 2023 Criminologists Licensure Examination. Their consistent excellence in criminology education reaffirms that Cordillera HEIs are a hub of quality education," they wrote.
