Cagayan, Philippines – Two male bodies believed to have drowned were recovered in Cagayan River on November 1, 2022, authorities reported.

PMAJ George Maribbay of PNP Alcala identified the younger victim as Herbert Garan, 21, single, a resident of Barangay Afusing Daga, Alcala, Cagayan.

The other was known to be Virgilio Magora, 66, a resident of Barangay Stefania, Amulung.

Police investigation revealed that at around 4:00 PM on October 30, Garan went to take a bath in the river near their house during the flood.

Garan’s family noticed that he didn’t return home the whole night prompting them to report the matter to the police.

Gacias relayed that Magora was declared missing after he went to the other side of Cagayan River riding his boat at around 5:00 PM on October 30.
