2 Kalinga cops awarded ‘Medalya ng Kadakilaan’ for their work against drug trade

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The work of two police officers in the fight against illegal drug trade and use in Kalinga was acknowledged by the Police Regional Office – Cordillera on Monday, December 12, 2022.


Police Lieutenant Gerald Bentadan and Patrolman Ryan Sangoy of the Kalinga Police Provincial Office were conferred the ‘Medalya ng Kadakilaan’ during the Traditional Monday Flag Raising Ceremony at Camp Major Bado Dangwa in La Trinidad, Benguet.

According to the Philippine National Police Cordillera, Bentadan and Sangoy received the ‘Medalya ng Kadakilaan’ or the PNP Heroism Medal for their notable action and efforts, particularly during the conduct of checkpoint in Lubuagan, Kalinga on September 29, 2022.


The cops back then managed to recover around P2.6 million of suspected marijuana.


Meantime, two personnel of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 namely Police Lieutenant Colonel Ruel Tagel and Police Corporal Jonel Awakan received Medalya ng Kagalingan for the arrest of a high-value target on October 1, 2022.


Medalya ng Ugnayang Pampulisya was awarded to PLtCol. Vivian Paclibon of the Regional Information and Communications Technology Management Division; PCpl. Kevin Wayne Chumacog; Pat Jona Jane Dondon; and Pat Polmart Paduyao.


The award was given for the service that they rendered during the outreach program in Itogon last November 25.
