2 kids burned alive; another individual injured in Baguio City housefire

Baguio City, Philippines - Two children, aged 6 and 7, burned alive after their house in Irisan, Baguio City was razed by fire in the afternoon of Saturday, October 19, 2024.

 

According to the report from the CDRRMC - Baguio, the kids, whose identities were withheld by the authorities, were asleep inside their house before the fire occurred.

 

The report said it was at around 1:00 p.m. that the house was razed by fire that killed the two. Investigators said, the children may not have had the idea of what was happening since they were asleep, and thus they were not able to save themselves from the fire.

 

Their remains were retrieved after the responding authorities extinguished the fire at around 2: 00 p.m.

 

As for the injured individual, a 26-year-old man, it was said that he was hurt after attempting to rescue the victims during the fire.

 

As of this writing, authorities are currently conducting further investigations to determine what caused the blaze.

 

Meanwhile, the Irisan Barangay Office, the City Social Welfare and Development, and private donors have already provided assistance to the victims' families.
