2 laborers die of electrocution in Tuba Benguet

Benguet, Philippines – An attempt to establish internet access turned tragic after two laborers died from electrocution in Proper Camp 3, Kennon Road, Tuba, Benguet on Wednesday afternoon, June 01, 2022.

Those killed were identified as Joseph Panoy Vallejos, 55, married, and Lorimer Dela Cruz Ruazol, 40, single. Both were residents of Sto. Tomas, Baguio City.

Tuba Municipal Police Station revealed that the victims were erecting an internet pole when they were electrocuted possibly due to a live wire.

The victims were rushed to the hospital but were pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Meanwhile, two others were brought to Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center after sustaining burns in different parts of their body.

The survivors are Benzar Casiano Vicente, 24, single, native of Roxas, Isabela and a resident of Bengao, Baguio City; and Randy Lapitan Leonen, 41, single, native of La Union, and a resident of Irisan, Baguio City.

Authorities are conducting further investigation on the main cause of the incident.
