2 Marijuana transporters found out after accident along Kennon Road

Tuba, Benguet – Two men were discovered transporting dried marijuana leaves after involvement in a vehicular accident along Kennon Road on the early morning of Sunday, July 3.


The two were identified by police as Jemmsie Salazar, 40, a resident of Bacoor Cavite, and Justine Jerome Baisa, 28, a resident of San Mateo, Rizal.


The police said they received information about an accident along Kennon Road.


Police report said the two had an accident at 4:40 AM on Sunday when the Ford Ranger vehicle driven by Salazar lost its break while traversing Kennon Road and flipped upside down.

The occupants sustained injuries while the vehicle was severely damaged.


Upon responding and investigating the accident scene, some residents who were at the site told the police that the two men have with them a box that they threw off a cliff near the river.


Authorities searched the area and later on discovered dried marijuana leaves in 12 tubular containers, weighing 12,000 grams and with an estimated value of p1.4 million.


Salazar and Baisa are now under police custody and facing charges of violating RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
