2 dead after falling into deep well in Tabuk City

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Two men failed to come out alive after going down into a 15-meter deep well at Sitio Tuliao, Calanan on Tuesday, July 11, 2023.

Victims identified as George Suyu, 41, and Ronie Allam, 29, were retrieved dead by the authorities on said date, PCapt. Manuel Sabado, Tabuk City Chief Investigator told GURU Press Cordillera.

The victims were from Junction, Pinukpuk.

The two, as narrated by their companions to the police, went to check their deep well project at the place of the incident.

Allam allegedly volunteered to go down into the hole using a rope.

Before he descended, one of their companions reminded it was too dangerous to go because of the presence of gas down there.

The victim was said to have insisted saying he was just going to try.

Several minutes passed and Allam was not able to go up and there was no response from him. For this reason, Suyu went after his colleague to get him.

Unfortunately, the two weren’t able to make it up alive.

Authorities from the Tabuk City Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office and the Bureau of Fire Protection who were alerted of the incident recovered Suyu and Allam around 5:15 PM and 5:32 PM on July 11, respectively.

Their bodies were ferried to the funeral parlor.
