2 of 3 suspects in the killing of woman in Baguio under police custody

Updated: Oct 17, 2022

Baguio City, Philippines – Two of the three suspects in the killing of Juliet Hesim – the naked woman found in a garage in Baguio city - voluntarily surrendered to authorities on Wednesday, September 7, according to police.

The suspects were identified by Baguio City police as Reneval Ponce, 31 and Babylyn Salvador, 22. Report said that the two are live-in partners.

The two were said to have surrendered at the Manila Police District, Homicide Division on United Nations Avenue, Manila before they were turned over to authorities of Camdas Police Station in Baguio City.

Ponce, as relayed by authorities, agreed to undergo the extra judicial confessions - a voluntary admission of guilt made by a defendant in the course of a conversation with someone other than the judge or magistrate handling his case.

With said process, police are optimistic that the identity of the third suspect “John Doe” will be known.

As recalled, the three suspects were the last persons seen with the victim before her cadaver was discovered in a home garage owned by Rodrigo Magsino Jr. in Barangay Alfonso Tabora, Trancoville at around 6:45 AM of August 30.
