2 student-riders die after crashing into post in Isabela

Isabela, Philippines – Two high school students passed away following a road crash over the weekend in Roxas, Isabela.


The two were riding a Suzuki Raider FI150 with the driver identified to be Adrian Yadao, 15 while his back rider was Samuel Inere Jr., 17 past 11:00 p.m. of Sept. 23 in Lanting, Roxas.

Roxas police initial investigation as cited by XFM Santiago described the motorcycle to be speeding when the rider lost control of the vehicle, sending the motorcycle straight into a post.


Both the rider and back rider sustained severe injuries. Yadao was declared dead on arrival at the hospital, while Inere was pronounced dead hours later while being treated.


Road crash was cited as the leading cause of death among children and young adults in the world. It was said that at least 1.35 million children passed away every year due to road accident.


In the Philippines, a study conducted by the University of the Philippines-National Center for Transportation Studies found out that 38 kids die in vehicular traffic accidents every day in the country.
