2 women in Baguio face charges for stealing “Turon” worth P50

Baguio City, Philippines - Crime, regardless of its scale or significance, is still a violation of the law and an offense that must be addressed.

This principle is underscored by a recent incident in Baguio City where two women are charged for allegedly stealing two pieces of “Turon,” or banana lumpia valued only at P50.

Based on the police reports obtained by the DZWT 540 AM - Radyo Totoo, the theft occurred on the evening of Monday, November 18, at a food stall in Magsaysay Avenue, Barangay Happy Homes, Baguio City.

It was said that the suspects worked together to steal the pieces of turon, but before they could conceal their actions, a security guard spotted them.

Despite being confronted by the guard, the women proceeded with their misdeed, continuing to steal the street food.

With this, the owner of the stolen turon decided to file charges against them at the city prosecutor's office on Thursday, November 21.

As of this writing, the women have not been arrested as there is no arrest warrant issued for their apprehension.
