2 young men caught with illegal gun while drinking with wanted criminal in Tabuk

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Two young individuals were caught in possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition in Tabuk City while they were drinking with a wanted person on Friday, December 9, 2022, in Purok 6, Bulanao.


According to Police Captain Ruff Manganip, Kalinga Police Provincial Office Information Officer, the two men happened to be drinking with a suspect for a robbery around 11:20 a.m. when the police arrived to serve the arrest warrant of the alleged robber.

Manganip added that the three scampered when they saw the police in which a chase ensued.


Unfortunately, the wanted person managed to elude arrest while the two younger men who were identified as Edison Nalog, 21, from Apatan, Pinukpuk, and an 18-year-old from the same place were cornered by the operatives.


When they were searched, a Colt MK1V Caliber 45 with a magazine loaded with 4 live ammunition was recovered from Nalog. Two live ammunitions for Caliber 45 were likewise seized from the 18-year-old suspect, according to the police.


The police said that the two suspects were not able to show their license to own and possess a gun which resulted in their arrest. The two were brought to the Tabuk City Police Station before charges of illegal possession of firearms shall be filed against them.
