20 iKalinga job seekers hired on the spot during Bodong job fair 2025

Tabuk City, Kalinga - The 2025 Bodong Job Fair, which is part of the ongoing 30th Kalinga Founding Anniversary and 6th Bodong Festival, concluded on Wednesday, February 12, with 20 Ikalinga job seekers hired on the spot. 

 

The fair, said Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Kalinga Manager Ermilinda Wandag, aimed at providing valuable employment opportunities to all iKalingas while empowering aspiring entrepreneurs across the province. 

 

A total of twenty-two local businesses and three international partners took part in the fair, linking Kalinga’s workforce to significant employment opportunities. 

 

At the fair, 20 lucky job seekers were employed immediately, demonstrating the event’s success in connecting applicants with prospective employers.

 

To acknowledge their contributions and ongoing dedication to employment, certificates of appreciation were granted to all participating employers by PESO Kalinga. 

 

In addition to the job fair, medical checkups were done by the Almora General Hospital to ensure the well-being of the attendees, while a skills fair, held also by the PESO Kalinga in partnership with the Provincial Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) led by PD Avelina Manganip, coincided to promote livelihood development by offering various training activities. 

 

Said activities initiated include loom weaving by Kalinga Ethnika, bamboo crafts making from artisans of Dupag, Tabuk City, rags making, barista training by the Business and Engineering School of Technology (BEST), and bread and pastry making by TESDA-CSITE and Happy Hands. 

 

Governor James Edduba was present at the mentioned events, reiterating his dedication to backing employment and skills training initiatives.  He also praised PESO Kalinga, DOLE Kalinga, and all partner agencies for their work in organizing an event that enhances Kalinga’s workforce and local industries.
