20-yr.-old Shabu user in Tabuk City caught in the act by barangay tanods, put behind bars

Tabuk City, Kalinga – A young man from Barangay Lacnog is among the latest detainee at the Tabuk City Police Station after he was caught using suspected shabu on Thursday evening, February 27, 2025.

 

The 20-year-old suspect whose name was withheld by the authorities was brought to the attention of the operatives by Punong Barangay Joel Alunday who called the Tabuk City Police Station, saying his tanod sheld a certain man described to have been caught in the act of using shabu.

 

The information prompted the station to deploy the anti-narcotic cops along with witnesses from the DOJ and the media.

                          

Arriving in Lacnog, the operatives seized a piece of sachet containing substance believed to be shabu. The suspected contraband is estimated to have worth P2,040. Moreover, the cops confiscated drug paraphernalia such as improvised toother, lighter, and aluminum foils.

 

The suspect who was newly identified drug personality was brought to the Tabuk City Police Station after the on-site inventory of the items taken from him.

 

In a statement, Tabuk City Police Chief, PLtCol. Benson Macli-ing conveyed that the operation demonstrated the importance of community’s cooperation in the continuing fight against illegal drugs.

 

“Daytoy ti pakakitaan ti kaadaan iti mayat nga kooperasyun ti pulis ken komunidad tayu tapnu malapdan ti panagiwaras ti illegal nga droga iti ili tayu nga Tabuk City,” he was quoted saying.
