2023 Nutrition Month celebration culminates in Tinglayan

Tinglayan, Kalinga – Winners of various contested activities prepared during this year’s celebration of Nutrition Month in the locality were announced by the local government unit of Tinglayan as the event culminates Wednesday, July 19.

In accordance with Presidential Decree 491, the local government laid out seven contested activities as the municipality joined the country in commemorating National Nutrition Month 2023, anchored with the theme "Healthy Diet Gawing Affordable for All."

These include the Teen Chef Contest, Poster-Making Contest, Nutri-Nanay, Cooking Contest, Vlog Contest, Best Gulayan sa Bakuran, Nutri- Healthy Baby, Affordable and original recipes contest, Nutri- Spoken Poetry Contest, and Nutri- Storytelling Contest.

Francine Banao emerged as the winner of the Teen Chef contest; Luz Tam-og for the Nutri Nanay contest; Kiera Kaye Dangi for the Nutri-Story Telling Contest; while Gwen Balag-oy and Bea Mariz garnered first and second place for the poster-making contest, respectively.

For Nutri-Spoken Poetry, Breana Agpad won the top prize while Monica Ada-ol ended up in second place.

Nutri Healthy babies were also named which include Reyman Agyao (first place), Jesse Daniel Bang-as (second place), Sheryl Gawang and Kira Dangi (third place), and Lynox Labbutan (fourth place).

For the Best in Gulayan sa Bakuran, Sumadel I snatched the first rank, Poblacion for the second place, and Old Tinglayan for the third place.

Cash prizes amounting to P11,000 and certificates were given to the winners who are set to represent the municipality during Provincial Nutrition Month.
