21-year-old Gunman of barangay captain in Abra nabbed

Abra, Philippines – A 21-year-old man suspected of shooting a barangay captain in Abra in 2020 and killing another barangay captain in 2022 was arrested by police at 1:09 PM on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Casamata Hill, Zone 5, Bangued, Abra.

Police identified the suspect as Robert Lazo Millare, single and a resident of Sitio Anana-ao, Brgy. Budac, Tayum, Abra.

Millare was suspected as the one behind the shooting of Barangay Captain Walter Teneza Tugadi and his wife in Barangay Budac Road while the two were on their way home.

The arrest was made by operatives of Bangued Municipal Police Station (led unit), PIU, RIU 14/RID, PHPT, 1st and 2nd PMFC and 4th MC RMFB 15 along with the warrant issued to the suspect for frustrated murder by Hon. Elizabeth Garcia Bringas, Acting Presiding, Judge of RTC of the 1st Judicial Region, Branch 58 of Bucay.

During the arrest, police disclosed that a black Samsung keypad cellular phone and a caliber .45 handgun with no serial number and with a mark of Model of 1911. U.S. ARMY were confiscated from Millare.

Further, the police report disclosed that Millare is also suspected of the murder of Barangay Captain Ronnie Bringas who was killed on April 27, 2022, in Barangay Angad Bangued, Abra.
