Dead college student found in Tuguegarao vacant lot identified

Cagayan, Philippines – The body of the missing 21-year-old college student was already decomposing when it was found on Tuesday, May 23, in Annafunan East, Tuguegarao City.

The cadaver was identified as Jasmin Grace Casale who was reported missing by her family after she didn’t come home on May 20.

Casale was last seen by her kins on Saturday evening, May 20, when she told them she was heading somewhere to meet someone she didn’t name, Tuguegarao Police Information Officer, PCapt. Rosemarie Taguiam told Cagayan Provincial Information Office.

Three days after her disappearance, the victim’s body was discovered by a garbage collector who was then going to pick leaves from a vacant lot in Annafunan East.

The police suspected that the crime scene was somewhere else and that the corpse was just abandoned in said area.

Further probe on the case is ongoing.

Meantime, Casale’s mom, Riza, in a Facebook post, thanked those who helped them track her daughter the past days. The grieving mother in a separate post likewise wrote her pain, “Anak ang sakit. Ang hirap. Bakit ikaw pa. Sana ako na lang. wala ng mangungulit sa akin na kahit madalas tayo mag away ma ka pa din ng ma.”

“Min I love you and I’m going to miss you sobra,” she further stated.
