Tabuk City, Kalinga – A 21-year-old student in Tabuk City is the latest casualty of a road accident in Tabuk City.

Despite several attempts to revive him, the student succumbed to his injuries from the incident which happened along the national road towards Capitol Hills on Sunday afternoon, June 2, 2024.

Initial investigation by the Tabuk City police revealed that at around 2:50 p.m., the rider identified by the police as Eric Caldingon, 21, was moving toward Capitol Hills from the rotunda following a Mitsubishi Adventure heading towards the same direction. This vehicle was behind a tricycle.

Upon arriving at the U-turn slot, particularly in front of Gunnawa's residence, the tricycle, however, suddenly stopped to fetch a passenger at the opposite side of the road. This prompted the Mitsubishi Adventure to immediately slam on the brakes.

Right then, the motorcycle, where the student was riding, coming from behind the Mitsubishi Adventure, crashed against the right rear taillight of the latter. Due to the impact, the crash threw the motorcycle rider against the left back wheel of a moving elf in the same lane.

Eric underwent Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation at the Kalinga Provincial Hospital due to zero pulse and zero breathing. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries.
