22 year-old tourist in Tabuk caught with marijuana bricks

Tabuk City, Kalinga – A 22-year-old tourist who checked in at a hotel in Bakras, Bulanao Centro was caught with suspected marijuana bricks Monday morning, March 21, 2022.


The Tabuk City police narrated that they were called by the hotel after their staff observed that one of their clients who checked in was carrying suspicious items.


Responding to the report, they found the suspect who just checked out around 7:30 AM from the hotel attempting to escape. When the police stopped him, he resisted and insisted on leaving the area.


Despite his efforts to leave, the suspect wasn’t able to escape the police.


Additionally, when the suspect’s bag was checked, the operatives discovered 2 bricks believed to be marijuana worth P240,000.


Also, a black bag, containing identification cards, and an Android cellphone was confiscated during the operation.


Meantime, the suspect was later identified as a certain John Rinze Orquista Viloria, single, jobless, and a resident of Marikina City.


After the on-site inventory in the presence of the media, DOJ, and barangay official, the suspect was brought to Tabuk City Police Station. A case for violation of Section 11 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 is being prepared against the suspect.
