224 families in Tinglayan graduate from 4Ps program

Tinglayan, Kalinga – The quality of life of 224 beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in the municipality of Tinglayan has improved and they graduated from the program on Tuesday, July 2, dubbed as ‘Pugay Tagumpay’ ceremony.

The event was held at the municipal gymnasium as witnessed by the municipal officials led by Mayor Sacrament Gumilab.

This serves as commendation not only to the recipients whose lives have been uplifted but also to partner stakeholders whose efforts lead to the program’s success, says Gumilab.

Before their enlistment to exit the program, the beneficiaries were assessed and evaluated as having attained self-sufficiency by the social welfare office.

Self-sufficiency, based on the goal of the program, is when family beneficiaries have already enough income after the graduation of their children, provide their daily sustenance, and are able to meet the first two levels of Social Worker Development Indicators – Survival and Subsistence levels.

However, although removed from the program, some families shall still be assisted by the Department of Social Welfare and Development Office.

During the event, Mayor Gumilab expressed his felicitation to the graduates, underscoring that their graduation from the program reflected not only the government’s dedication to supporting impoverished families but also the progress the recipients attained.

Gumilab assured the graduates of continuous provision of government aid saying, “As you move on from the program, we understand you may feel uncertain, but the government remains committed to your continued success and well-being”.
