23-yr-old rider in Isabela dies after his motorcycle crashes against an SUV

Isabela, Philippines – A young rider died on the spot after his motorcycle crashed against an SUV along the national road in Barangay Daramuangan Sur in San Mateo, Isabela on December 21, 2022.

San Mateo police investigation said the 23-year-old rider identified as Alter Jan Castillo of Cabatuan, Isabela, was traversing the national highway on his motorcycle together with a minor back rider on Wednesday evening when the tragedy took place.

The police said Castillo’s motorcycle was following an Isuzu Sportivo driven by a certain Armando Cabillon, 62, when it crashed against the back of the SUV.

The intensity of the impact of the collision left the young driver with serious injuries which resulted in his instant death. His back rider, on the other hand, sustained abrasions on different parts of his body and survived the crash.

Investigation disclosed that the rider could have been intoxicated as they allegedly came from a bar prior to the road crash.
