Bodong bazaar, food hubs, carnival set to begin Monday

Updated: Feb 1, 2023

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The Kalinga Sports Complex and Capitol grounds will bustle with activities come January 30, 2023 when the bazaar, food hubs and carnival return with many stalls expected to be set up.

The three-week event will feature variety of products, tasty cuisines, and fun activities, as part of the Kalinga founding anniversary and Bodong celebration.

Bodong bazaar for dry goods and night market will be at Kalinga Sports Complex where the Provincial Engineering Office prepared a more organized and safer area for both the entrepreneurs and the shoppers, says Information Officer Dionica Alyssa Legasi in her interview with the Assistant Manager of Station 1 Radio, Kristel Baruzo.

This is to give entrepreneurs a chance to market their products such as wares, especially in the light of many businesses popping up.

Legasi assured the said place is safe with roving police officers patrolling in the area to provide 24/7 security protection. Also, medical services will be made available when needed.

To ensure sanitation, there will be enough power and water supply. Comfort station will likewise be installed. All these are through the initiative of the Office of the Governor.

Preparations being done by Kalinga provincial government at the sports complex are not mainly for the conduct of the event but for future use on the improvement of athletic programs in the locality.

Meanwhile, the food hubs will be located at the Capitol grounds, in front of the regional warehouse. Selling intoxicating liquor or beverages will strictly be prohibited to keep the area safe.

As a policy of the Bodong food hub, stall owners are obliged to clean their designated areas to maintain cleanliness.

For the carnival, the provincial government guaranteed safety compliance among the bidders for harmless rides, games and other activities.

The bazaar (dry goods and night market), food hubs and carnival will run until February 17.
