Baguio City, Philippines—An African national who is currently residing in Baguio is now facing charges  for allegedly raping a teenager in the city last week.

According to the police report obtained by the DZWT 540 AM - Radyo Totoo, the suspect is 24 years old, while the victim  is a 19-year-old student.

As recounted by the victim to the police when she reported the matter to them, the two met at a gym on Lower Bonifacio Street, Baguio City, on February 8.

At that time, the man drove the young woman to her boarding house, and the latter gave her social media account when he asked for it.

On the evening of the same day, the man invited the victim to have dinner outside, to which the victim agreed. However, as soon as the two met, the man invited her to have a drink.

The girl refused, but  the suspect suggested to do the drinking at her boarding house. Once they reached her boarding house, the suspect  asked her again to have a drink.

Despite her refusal as she had kidney problems, the woman was forced to do so.  When she was already drunk, it was then that the suspect took advantage of her.

The necessary charges have been filed against the accused this Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
