24-yr.-old teacher from Conner, Apayao tops military class

Conner, Apayao – Determination and hard work surely have a prize.

For Pvt Carmencita Alberto from Conner, Apayao, the trophy included graduating on top of her military class at Camp Melchor F Dela Cruz in Upi, Gamu on December 15, 2023.

Alberto, 24, Licensed Professional Teacher. earned a general average of 92.78% in her Candidate Soldier Course(CSC) Class, the highest mark among the finishers of the CSC Class 761-2023 of the 5th Infantry Division.

Next to Alberto was Pvt Dan Clifford Barbero from Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya. The 21-year-old senior high school graduate had a 91.69% general average.

Completing the list of Top 3 was Pvt Van Vincent Garsuta, 23, of Tagbilaran City, Bohol with a 91.54% mark.

The Physical Fitness Proficiency Award, meanwhile, was conferred to Pvt Mark John Aquino, 24 of Lasam, Cagayan.

These top 3 and an awardee graduated together with 121 new soldiers from different places in the country. Their ceremony was graced by Apayao Governor Elias Bulut Jr. who was invited as the guest of honor.
