26-yr.old rider in Isabela run over by SUV after he slid and fell on the road

San Manuel, Isabela - A 26-year-old motorcycle rider died after he was accidentally run over by a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) along the road in Barangay District 3, San Manuel, Isabela, on Wednesday, September 18.

The casualty was a 26-year-old engineer identified by Isabela police as Emerson Fernandez, a resident of said barangay.

Report from San Manuel PNP stated that Fernandez was on his way home that day when his motorcycle accidentally slid and was put flat on said road. While lying on the road, it was then that the SUV accidentally ran over him.

A concerned citizen reported the matter to authorities immediately.

The policemen, upon notification, proceeded to the scene of the accident and rushed Fernandez to a hospital nearby, but he was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Meanwhile, the SUV driver, Christian Sog-ang, 27, a resident of Bulanao, Tabuk City, explained during the investigation that he did not notice the body lying on the road, thus the incident.

He was not charged after he and the victim’s family agreed to settle the matter amicably.
