28-yr.-old backrider drowns after he fell into a creek

Isabela, Philippines – A 28-year-old backrider died after he accidentally fell into a creek beside the road along Alicia, Isabela on Tuesday night, Oct. 17, 2023.

Alicia Police Station revealed that the victim named Mark Allen Cruz, single, from Barangay Dagupan, San Mateo, Isabela went to Echague Banchetto and had a drinking spree with his friend, Vien Rheizel Gagarin, 20, from Barangay Uno of the same town.

The two were heading home but when they reached Alicia – San Mateo Road along San Pedro village, Gagarin who was then riding the motorcycle lost control of the steering wheel, causing them to fall on the roadside.

Gagarin turned to check on Cruz but the latter was nowhere to be found, prompting him to call his relatives and authorities.

It was around 7 a.m. the following day when Cruz was found lifeless.

His remains are set to undergo postmortem and autopsy examination to determine the cause of death.
