28-yr.-old farmer who went fishing found dead in Dilag, Tabuk

Tabuk City, Kalinga – A 28-year-old farmer who went fishing on Friday night was found dead in a rice field in Barangay Dilag Saturday morning, January 21, 2023.


The victim, Rigor Totizano, 28, resident of Ipil, was found by the authorities lying on his back with his head submerged in the rice paddy around 7:30 in the morning of said day, Tabuk City police reported.


Investigation showed that Totizano left their house around 9:00 p.m. on January 20 to catch fish at the irrigation. Since then, he didn’t return home.

It is believed that the man could have been electrocuted since he was holding his homemade fishing device when he was found.


It was further reported that the victim’s belongings were complete.


The Kalinga Provincial Forensic Unit came to gather evidence at the place of incident to find out the real cause of his death. The cadaver was later brought to a funeral home for Post Mortem Examination.
