295 TUPAD beneficiaries in Santa Marcela undergo orientation before deployment

Santa Marcela, Apayao- A total of 295 TUPAD workers across the municipality underwent orientation from the DOLE and Office of the Congresswoman, today October 16 at the EKB Memorial Sports Center.


Said beneficiaries were informed about the aims and objectives of the program, funding source, daily wage, and their areas of deployment.


As mentioned by the Santa Marcela LGU PESO, the first batch of the 245 receipients comprised residents from barangays San Carlos, Emilliana, Malekkeg,Imelda,

San Antonio,Panay, San Juan, Barocboc, Nueva, San Mariano, and Sipa. While the second batch consisted of 50 residents from Panay, Nueva and Marcela.


Said workers will work for a maximum of 15 days with a daily wage of P430.00 to do community services, which may include but not limited to road cleaning, school painting, gardening, among other relevant environmental and social services.


During his message, SAO Oscar T. Ramos, Jr, on behalf of Mayor Evelyn B. Martinez, reminded residents that they are fortunate because of the provision of the livelihood program. He also expressed thanks to Congresswoman Eleanor Bulut-Begtang, and Provincial Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr. for their unwavering support to Santa Marcela, giving special priority to the underserved communities. The program is funded by Bagong Pilipinas fund thru the office of Speaker Martin Romualdez.


The TUPAD program exists to provide temporary employment and augment the daily needs of eligible beneficiaries primarily those who belong to disadvantaged groups.
