3 Abra towns get P1.5M street dancing prize in Kawayan Fest


Bangued, Abra – A total of P1.5 million was awarded to three municipalities in Abra after winning the Hataw Abreño Street Dance and Showdown on March 5 at the Abra Sports Complex.


The event is one of the activities for the 2023 Abrenian Kawayan Festival.


Among participating municipalities, street dancers from Bucay snatched the first place and brought home the P700,000 grand prize, the Abra Province announced on their Official Facebook page.

Securing the second spot is the Municipality of Bangued who received P500,000. They were likewise acknowledged as ‘Best in Street Performance’.


The Municipality of San Quintin, meantime, took home the P300,000 prize after placing third in the competition. The same municipality was also recognized ‘Best in Costume’ and ‘Best in Musicality’ accolade.


The Bucloc, Daguioman, Boliney, and Sal-lapadan clusters also got the ‘Pride of Place Award’.


Other Participants received P50,000 consolation and another P50,000 as subsidy.


This year’s Abreñian Kawayan Fetsival will culminate on March 9, 2023.
