3 Apayao mayors enhance leadership skills at 14th Asia Pacific Cities Summit


Luna, Apayao – Three municipal mayors in the province of Apayao have enhanced their leadership skills as they joined the 14th Asia Pacific Cities Summit (APCS) and Mayors' Forum held in Brisbane, Australia on Oct. 11 - 13, 2023.


APCS, as mentioned by the Apayao Provincial Public Information Office, is a vital hub for regional cities to engage globally and establish business connections through the exchange of ideas with the various local leaders and industry experts.

It is operated by Brisbane City Council's International Relations and Multicultural Affairs Branch, City Planning and Sustainability Division.


In said event, participants convene to share expertise, experiences, and knowledge regarding sustainable urban development.


Additionally, the summit also serves as a key component for cities to enhance global networks and develop new commercial ties within the region, which will help boost their economies.


Through various discussions, Mayors Josephine M. Bangsil of Luna, Hector Reuel D. Pascua of Pudtol, and Jorico F. Bayaua of Conner, Apayao gained additional skills on technological designs and advancements, which will benefit their constituents.


Other topics discussed were the use of data, inclusivity, happiness, and economic growth.


Likewise, the three mayors also shared their expertise, and experiences as public servants with their fellow leaders who participated in said event.
